The book features 51 works created over seven years, during which I studied the words and teachings of the Buddha while continuing to paint. It also includes two lost works that were destroyed in a fire and that I had once given up hope of ever including in an art book. With the help of modern imaging technology, these works have been carefully reconstructed for this publication. Alongside each artwork, I have included short personal reflections, as well as introductions to the different series and mini essays about the thoughts and experiences behind the works. For this book, I wanted to include absolutely everything I had dreamed of doing. To allow you to enjoy the artworks as fully as possible, I incorporated five special features. 1. Premium-quality paper The book is printed on exceptionally high-grade paper with a soft, refined texture. It provides the perfect foundation for reproducing the delicate and beautiful colors of the original works. 2. Special printing for the color blue To reproduce shades of blue that cannot be achieved through ordinary printing alone, additional special printing processes were used to create greater depth and richness. 3. Shimmering pink foil on the cover The title Kumpu is finished in luminous pink foil. I wanted its sparkle to carry a sense of courage and hope. 4. Two luxurious fold-out spreads Phoenix in the Clouds and White Dragon Deity and Waves are presented across expansive four-page A4 fold-out spreads, allowing you to enjoy the intricate details and powerful scale of these monumental works. 5. A special detachable protective artwork You can remove it, place it in a frame, and create your own small place for prayer or quiet reflection. I created this special page with the hope that it might become a small protective presence in your everyday life.
